Roughly every 10 minutes, a child in Australia is abused. This year the theme for National Child Protection Week, which I launched at Parliament House, focuses on the people who have the ability to stamp out child abuse and neglect in our community – the adults. The message is clear: “Children See – Children Do” - so make your influence positive.
With 30,941 children under the age of 15 living in Macarthur, we as adults have the responsibility to show our children the right way, and prevent them from learning the wrong way. We know from a young age, children imitate our behaviours – what we say, how we act, and how we speak to people. From the smallest action of taking the time help someone with their groceries, to standing up and protecting children from severe abuse, we all have a role to play.
No response to 3 emails I sent the Minister about adult sex aid ads on daytime radio.
